A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
salsuginosus,-a,-um (adj.A), salsugineus,-a,-um (adj.A): “growing in places inundated with salt water” (Lindley); growing in brackish places, i.e. within the reach of salt water; “growing in salt marshes” (Stearn 1996); = halophyticus,-a,-um (adj.A); see brackish;

- in salsuginosis et rupestribus a Cypro, ad Sibiriam (DeCandolle), in brackish and rocky [places] from Cyprus to Siberia.

- in campis salsuginosis, Sibiriae (DeCandolle), in the salt plains of Sibiria.

- Halarchon [Chenopodiaceae], “ species 1, in salsuginosis Affghanistaniae obvia” (B&H), species 1, encountered in salty [sc. places, i.e. salt marshes] of Affghanistan.

Ranunculus salsuginosus, an herb growing ‘in locis salsis udis,’ in wet, saline places; Sisymbrium salsugiueum; Turritis salsuginosus.
