A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Rubus,-i (s.m.II), abl. sg. rubo: the genus of blackberries, dewberries, raspberries; see batus,-i (s.f.I), abl. sg. bato (fem. gender);

- alii auctores species caducas in Rosam includentes vicissim alii in genera Rubo, some authors including the caducous species in the genus Rosa, others in turn in the genus Rubus.

Senticetum,-i (s.n.II), abl. sg. senticeto: a briar or brier-thicket, thorn-brake, a thicket of spiney shrubs, especially of the genus Rubus (black- or rasp-berry); see sentis,-is (c.), abl. sg. sente, a thorn-bush.

 

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
