A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

roratus,-a,-um (part.A): fallen in drops or drips; drizzled, sprinkled, moistened, besprinkled, bedewed; wetted; syn. stillatus,-a,-um (part.A)[> L. roro,-avi,-atum, 1., to distil dew, to let fall in drops or drips; to fall as dew, to drizzle, sprinkle];

- in graminibus roratis, on bedewed grass.

- tellus rorata mane pruina, the earth bedewed early in the morning with frost.

- lamellae sub pileo lacte roratae, the lamellae under the pileus bedewed [wet] with a milky juice.

- carne latice sanguineo rorata, with the flesh bedewed with a bloody latex.

Hieracium oeneo-roratum [perhaps ‘sprinkled with wine,’ i.e. with red spots].

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
