Remnant, remainder: vestigium,-ii (s.n.II), abl.sg. vestigio, remnant, trace; reliquiae (pl.f.I), q.v.; reliquum,-i (s.n.II), abl. sg. reliquo: that which is left behind, a remainder, residue; residuum,-i (s.n.II), abl. sg. residuo: the remainder, residue; cf. induviae,-arum (pl.f.I), abl.pl. induviis: persistent parts, “withered leaves remaining upon a stem, and clothing it” (Lindley); see residue.
remnant (adj.), remaining: see reliquus,-a,-um (adj.A); see residual; see induvialis,-e (adj.B), induviatus,-a,-um (adj.A), clothed with withered parts (remnants), as a stem with persistent dead leaves.
