reliquus,-a,-um (adj.A): remaining, that is left behind, that remains [> L. relinguo,-liqui,-lictum, 3, to leave behind, to leave remaining; to leave, abandon; remain, to be left behind; to omit, leave undone, neglect; (of time), that is left or remains, the future: dignitas reliquae vitae, the dignity of the future, i.e. the rest of ones life; sometimes written as relicuus or rellicuus]; syn. relictus,-a,-um (part.A), q.v.: left behind, relictual, relic; abandoned; cf. induvialis, induviatus, induviate, clothed with withered remnants;

- reliqui omnes, all the others.

- reliquo noctis, the rest of the night.

- de reliquo, besides; for the rest, otherwise

- pro reliquo vitae tempore for the rest of their lives.

- stamina diadelpha, antheris 5 majoribus linearibus, reliquis ovatis (B&H), stamens diadelphous [combined in two sets], with 5 anthers larger, linear, with the remainder ovate.

- dantur in hac specie, proles, quarum flores squamulis carent, quamvis relique partes sideroxylo persimiles (Necker), it is granted in this species, the progeny, the flowers of which lack squamules [i.e. small scales, although the remaining parts are very similar to sideroxylon.

- staminum bifurcatio, a reliquis speciebus ad corythophyti genus pertinentibus, hanc distinguit (Necker), the bifurcation of the stamens, distinguishes this from the other species near to the genus of corythophyton.

- foliis floralibus reliqua aemulantibus (F. Mueller), with the floral leaves similar to the other [sc. species].

- petala 2 lateralia vix breviora, patula; reliqua minima brevissimaque sursum flexa (DeCandolle), petals 2, the lateral ones scarcely shorter, spreading; the other [sc. petals] very small and very short, upwardly flexed.

- uno carpello ad basin stipitis in calyce reliquo, sessili. (Boissier), with one carpel at the base of the stipe in the remnant calyx, sessile.

- cellulae reliquae matricales saepe intra cellulas cultas visae, remnant mother cells often seen among cultured cells.
