A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
recoctus,-a,-um (part.A) burned; melted, forged, cast (as of metals) [> L. recoquo,-coxi,-coctum, 3, “to cook or boil over again; to prepare again by fire; to burn, melt cast, or forge again (of metals); recast, remold; youthful, hale, lusty (alluding to the fable of Pelias)” (Lewis & Short); see cooked; see burned;

- [Lygogala globosum; fungus] grani pisi magnitudine, aeris recocti colore (Mich.), with the size of the grain [i.e. seed] of a pea], with the color of [melted, burnt] copper.

 

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
