A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Raven: classically = corvus,-i (s.m.II), q.v., abl. sg. corvo [> L. corvus,-i (s.m.II), raven]; syn. corax,-acis (s.m.III), q.v., abl.sg. corace = Gk. korax, a raven]; see crow.

Common Raven: Corvus corax L.

Raven (Eng.noun): “a large glossy black bird (Corvus corax) that ... differs from the closely related common crow chiefly in its greater size and in having the feathers of the throat narrow and pointed; any of several other usu. large and glossy-black birds of the genus Corvus or family Corvidae” (WIII).

coracicus,-a,-um (adj.A): of or belonging to the raven (Gk. korax,-akos (s.m.III); see corax,-acis (s.m.III).

corvinus,-a,-um (adj.A), of or relating to ravens or crows; raven-black (Jackson). Raven: classically = corvus,-i (s.m.II), q.v., abl. sg. corvo [> L. corvus,-i (s.m.II), raven]; syn. corax,-acis (s.m.III), q.v., abl.sg. corace = Gk. korax, a raven]; see crow.

NOTE: the raven in classical times = corax,-acis (s.m.III), abl.sg. corace = Gk. korax, a raven; see corax,-acis (s.m.III); also corvus,-i (s.m.II), q.v.
