A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

quadantenus (adv.), quadamtenus (adv.): to a certain point or limit, so far; to a certain extent, in some measure, somewhat; see quodammodo (adv.); see ‘somewhat;’ see tenus (prep. with abl.);

- [Hysterium fraxini; fungus] Coffeae fabam ustam forma elliptica et colore quadantenus aemulatur(S&A), resembling a roasted bean of coffee in the elliptic shape and to some extent in color.

- austerus sapor os & linguam moderate constringit & quadam asperitate coarctat: hinc quadantenus siccat & refrigerat (Ray), an ‘austere’ taste moderately draws up the mouth and tongue, and contracts [them] with a certain asperity [i.e. tartness, acidity]: for this reason in some measure it dries and it cools.

- globuli quo magis extremitatibus appropinquant, eo sensim minoribus, exacte rotùndis, monile seu bullas collares quadantenus referentibus, mucilagine quadam invicem connexis (Dill.), in which place [= quo] the globules draw more near to the extremities, in that direction [= eo] they are gradually smaller, completely rounded, somewhat resembling a necklace or collar bullae [i.e. collar studs (ornaments)], mutually [= invicem] connected by a kind of mucilage.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
