Placentarium,-ii (s.n.II), abl. sg. placentario, “the placenta” (Jackson).

NOTE: perhaps also the Placentary (“(obsol.) a placenta which is long and narrow and bears many ovules” (Lindley; Jackson);

- [cf. Gelsemium:] ovula in quoque loculo numerosa, in placenta lineari 3-4-seriata. (B&H), the ovules numerous in each locule,in 3-4 rows in a linear placenta.

- [cf. Gomphostigma] ovula in loculis numerosa, in placenta lineari oo-seriata (B&H), the ovules numerous in the locules, in [numerous] rows on a linear placenta.

 

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
