A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
parallele (adv.), paralleliter (adv.): in a parallel way or manner;

- folia elongata, tenuiter et crebre parallele penninervia (B&H), leaves elongate, thinly and closely in parallel penninerved.

- calyce nec 10-nervio nec parallele oo-striato (B&H), with the calyx neither 10-nerved nor in a parallel manner [indeterminate]-striate.

- folia ampla, parallele pennivenia v. bipinnatifida (B&H), leaves large, parallel-pinnately veined or twice pinnatifid.

- [fungi] A. L. granulosus var. albus: pilei discus nonnumquam confertim granulosus, parallele rugoso - subplicatus (S&A), the disc of the pileus sometimes closely granulose, parallely rugose-subplicate.

- [Lichina; lichen] thallus fusco-ater fruticulosus cartilagineo-firmus intus longitrorsum parallele lineari-cellulosus (Nyl.), thallus a blackish-brown to dull black, fruticulose, cartilagineously-firm, inside longitudinally parallely linear-cellulose [i.e. with the cells in parallel linear lines].
