A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
ovuliferous, ovule-bearing: gemmulifer,-fera,-ferum (adj.A); ovulifer,-fera,-ferum (adj.A), ovuliger,-gera,-gerum (adj.A);

- amenta ovulifera, female catkins (Stearn).

- ovarium placentis oo intromissis undique ovuliferis in lóculos totidem completos v. incompletos divisum (B&H), the ovary with numerous placentas inserted, everywhere ovuliferous, divided into just as many perfect or imperfect locules.

- carpella oo (pauca v. numerosa), sessilia, secus suturam ventralem per totam longitudinem biseriatim ovuligera (B&H), the carpells [indeterminate] (few or numerous), sessile, biseriatly ovule-bearing along the ventral suture throughout the whole length.

 

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
