A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
operculatim (adv.): operculately, in the manner of a lidded or operculate organ or structure;

- capsula coriacea, sub apice rima horizontali v. obliqua operculatim dehiscens (B&H), capsule leathery, under the apex with a horizontal fissure or oblique [i.e. slanted], operculately dehiscent [i.e. dehiscent with a lid].

- calyx folliculiformis, lateraliter ruptus et transverse operculatim dehiscens (B&H), the calyx follicle-shaped, laterally bursted and transversely operculately dehiscing.

- calyx infundibuliformis, tubo cylindraceo; lobis 4, valvatis, deciduis, interdum operculatim cohaerentibus (B&H), the calyx funnel-shaped, with the tube cylindrical, with the lobes 4, valvate, deciduous, sometimes operculately [i.e. in the manner of a lid] adherent.
