obsolete (adv.), compar. obsoletius (adv.), superl. obsoletissime (adv.): obsoletely, faintly, obscurely, rudimentarily; poorly, weakly, meanly; (in fungi) “(of annulus, scales, etc.) very imperfectly developed; hardly perceptible; (of terms) no longer in use” (S&D);

- Hysterium obsolete striatum, a Hysterium obscurely striate.

- gelatina hymenea iodò vix vel obsoletissime ccerulescens (praesertim apice thecarum) (Nyl.), the hymenial gelatin in iodine scarcely or most weakly turning blue (especially at the apex of the thecae).

- stigma dilatatum et obsolete trilobum interdum excavatum viride vel album, stigma broadened and faintly three-lobed sometimes hollowed out green or white (Stearn).

- calyx late cupularis, margine obsolete lobato v. latere fisso, persistens, aestivatione subaperta (B&H), calyx broadly cupulate, with the margine faintly lobate or laterally divided, persistent, with the aestivation subaperta.

- folia marginibus undulatis integerrima vel sub magno augmento obsolete serrulata (DozyMoek), leaves with margins undulate, completely entire or under great magnification, faintly serrulate.

- valvulis medio obsolete uninerviis (Boissier), with the valvules in the middle weakly one-nerved.

- vaginis obsolete auriculatis (DeCandolle), with the sheaths weakly auriculate.

- foliis floralibus sessilibus reniformibus basi obsolete crenatis (DeCandolle), with the floral leaves sessile, kidney-shaped, at the base weakly crenulate.

- fructibus pyriformibus obsolete reticulatis (DeCandolle), with the fruits pear-shaped, faintly reticulate.

- foliis subtus adpresso-pilosiusculis obsolete punctulatis (DeCandolle), with the leaves underneath appressed-somewhat hairy, faintly punctulate.
