A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

Nubicola,-ae (s.f.I): nubicolous, cloud-dweller, as in plants living in cloud forests in the tropics; as an epithet it is a noun in apposition to the generic name.

NOTE: the noun nubicola,-ae (s.f.I), nubicolous, may also mean ‘dwelling in Nubia;’ as would nubensis,-e (adj.B).

Corydalis nubicola Z.Y.Su & Lidén, "The specific epithet is based on Latin nubes (cloud) and the suffix -cola (dweller), referring to the high altitude of the type locality;"

Ageratina nubicola; Deprea nubicola N.W. Sawyer, Gnaphalium nubicola would require the protologue to determine the meaning of the epithet.
