nonnullus,-a,-um (adj.A), = non nullus,-a,-um (adj.A): some, several, a few; declined the same as nullus,-a,-um, q.v.; opp. omnis,-e (adj.B), each, every (in the singular); all, the whole, every one of them all (in the plural); opp. multus,-a,-um (adj.A), many;

NOTE: this is an adjective and takes the same number, case and gender of the noun it modifies: folium nonnullum, some leaves.

- nonnulis hyphis collo septato praeditis, some hyphae provided with a septate neck.

- dentes apice modo integri, modo fissi, imo etiam non nulli multoties tenuiter incisi (fimbriati) (S&A), the teeth at the apex sometimes entire, sometimes divided, also at the very base some thinly many-times incised.

- ILEOCARPUS a formis non nullis Stephaniae hernandiaefoliae nobis haud differre videntur (B&H), Ileocarpus seems to us hardly to differ from some forms of Stephania hernandiaefolia.

- stamina edentula v. omnia v. nonnulla appendiculata (B&H), stamens without small teeth or all or some of them appendiculate.

- calycis laciniae 5, omnes v. nonnullae extus saepius 2-glandulosae(B&H), laciniae of the calyx 5, all or some externally more often 2-glandulose.

- nonnullorum auctorum, of several authors.

- petala vera intra calycem adsunt in Euphorbiaceis nonnullis et in uno genere Phytolaccacearum, true petals within the calyx present in some Euphorbiaceae [i.e. genera] and in one genus of Phytolaccaceae.

- cheilocystidia sparsa, nonnulla inclusa, nonnulla septata, cheilocystidia scattered, some imbedded, some septate.

- opera nonnulla recentiora ubi species novae insignes v. numerosae descriptae sint (B&H), some more recent works where the new species are remarkable or numerous may be described.

- spiculis nonnullis vel multis, with spicules several or many.

- species nonnullae latissime dispersae, una etiam in Europa obvia, several species very widely dispersed, one also encountered in Europe.

- folia omnia v. nonnulla bipinnata (B&H), the leaves all or some bipinnate.

- [moss] calyptra magna in lacinias latas nonnullas fissa laevis (C. Muell.), calyptra large, divided into numerous broad laciniae.

- [moss] flos masculus in ramo laterali terminali gemmiformis paraphysibus nonnullis instructus (C. Muell.), the male flower gemmiform [i.e. budlike] on a lateral, terminal branch, [the flower] provided with numerous paraphyses.

in nonnullis ... in aliis ..., in some ... in others; see alius,-a,-um (irregular adj.A).
