A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
nectariiformis,-e (adj.B): in the form of a nectarium; cf. ‘nectarium: “ the organ in which nectar is secreted, formerly applied to any anomalous part of a flower, as its spurred petals” (Jackson);

- petala parva, nectariiformia, unguiculata, lamina basi labio interiore squamaeformi aucta (B&H), petals small, in the form of a nectary, clawed, with the lamina enlarged at the base by the inner, scale-shaped lip.

- pétala 6, parva, nectariiformia (B&H), petals 6, small, nectary-shaped.

- sepala 8, petaloidea, plana, exterioribus minoribus minusque coloratis, et petala 4 nectariiformia cucullata v. calcarata quadrifariam superposita (B&H), sepals 8, resembling a petal, flat, with the outer ones smaller and less colored, and the petals 4, resembling a nectary, cucullate or spurred, superimposed in four rows.
