A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
mammillatus,-a,-um (adj.A): mammillate, having small nipple-like projections; having breast-like protuberances; “having teat-shaped processes” (Fernald 1950); cf. umbonatus,-a,-um (adj.A), bossed, umbonate, having a rounded, blunt elevation, projection or umbo in the middle, as of a pileus in fungi;

- (moss) Operculum majusculum, convexum, breviter mammillatum (DozyMoek),

- (moss) capsula ovata immersa, operculo plano-mammillato (Hooker), with the ovate capsule immersed, with a flat-mammillate operculum.

- (moss) operculoque plano mammillato nec convexo-umbonato (Mueller), and with the operculum flat, mammillate not convex-umbonate.

- (moss) operculo convexo - obtuso submammillato (Mueller), with the operculum convex-obtuse, nearly mammillate.

bimammillatus,-a,-um (adj.A): with two papillae or mammillae.
