A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
lined (Eng.adj.), marked with lines: leptogrammus,-a,-um (adj.A), with fine or narrow markings; lineatus,-a,-um (adj.A), q.v., refers to lines irregardless of height or depth; lineatus,-a,-um (part.A), q.v., “lined. Marked by fine parallel lines” (Lindley), refers to lines without height or depth; striolatus,-a,-um (adj.A), with fine linear markings or ridges; “finely ridged” (Magill 1990); striatus,-a,-um (adj.A), with fine linear grooves;

black-lined: nigrolimitatus,-a,-um (adj.A); limitatus,-a,-um (adj.A): bounded, limited, bordered, enclosed within a limit.

lined, 'marked with sinuous intricate lines,'labyrinthine: labyrinthinus,-a,-um (adj.A), daedaleus,-a,-um (adj.A).

rivulosus,-a,-um (adj.A), q.v., having fine irregular, sinuous, wavy or crooked grooves or lines;

- [fungi] pileus obsolete zonatus, squamuloso-fibrillosus, valde rivulosus, disco demum fere nlger (S&A), the pileus faintly banded, squamulose-fibrillose [i.e. minutely scaly and with thin, firm fibers], strongly rivulose [i.e. with fine, irregular grooves or lines], with the disc finally almost [shining] black.

unlined, without lines: estriatus,-a,-um (adj.A), estriolatus,-a,-um (adj.A); exlineatus,-a,-um (part.A).
-lined, in rows or lines: in Gk. comp. see -stichos,-a,-on (adj.A), -stichus,-a,-um (adj.A); see row;

- hypostichus, lined beneath.
