A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

laudatus,-a,-um (part.A): commended, recommended, approved; cited, quoted, named [> L. laudo,-avi,-atum 1. to praise; to commend, to recommend as suitable or acceptable]; see cited;

- [moss] D. flexuosi formis compactis vel D. nivali simile, notis autem laudatis propria species (C. Muell.), similar to compact forms of Dicranum flexuosum or Dicranum nivale, however, a proper species by the features cited.

- Ex iconibus Cl. Schwaegricheni supra laudatis Entosthodon verus esse videtur (C. Muell.), from the illustrations of the eminent Schaegrichen cited above it seems to be a true Entosthodon.

- [Mnium Menziesii] praecedenti ramificatione affine, sed notis laudatis distinctissimum (C. Muell.), related to the preceding [sc. species] by the branching, but very distinct by the features named.

- [Tamariscineae] affinitas ab auctoribus nonnullis laudata cum Salice nobis omnino effugit (B&H), the affinity [i.e. relationship] by many praised [i.e. recognized] authors with Salix completely escapes us.

- Ab A. cerviculata, ex obs. auctoris proxima, inflorescentia monoica et notis ceteris laudatis distat (C. Mueller), distant from A. cerviculata, which is nearest, from the observation of authors, by the monoicous inflorescence and other (re)commended characters.

- [moss] Ex iconibus CI. Schwägricheni supra laudatis Entosthodon verus esse videtur (C. Mueller), from the recommended pictures of the eminent Schwägrichen above, it seems to be a real Entosthodon.

- [Mnium; moss] partibus omnibus, antheridiis, archegoniis, paraphysibus (clavatis), foliis et theca robustum et ab omnibus notis laudatis facillime distinguitur (C. Mueller), robust in all parts, antheridia, archegonia, paraphyses (clavate), leaves and theca, and most easily distinguished by all the recommended [i.e. cited] characters.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
