A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
lateritius,-a,-um (adj.A), latericius,-a,-um (adj.A) lateriticus,-a,-um (adj.A): dark brick red, like old red tiles; brick, built of brick, darker than testaceus,-a,-um (adj.A), q.v. [> later,-eris (s.m.III), q.v.].

- ad pavimenta lateritia, on brick pavements.

- fodina lateritia, a brick-works or brick-working.

- juxta Urbis nostrae moenia, inter Divi Fridiani, & S. Petri in Gattolino portam, a fodina lateritia non longe, mense Februario (Mich.), beside the (fortified) walls of out City, between [the temple or basilica] of Saint Fridianus and Saint Peter on the Gattoline Gate, not far from the brick-works, in the month of February.

- [fungus] Color albidus, quandoque tantillum flavescens aut subvirescens — excepto pilei margine, initio pallido guttato, dein rufescente sublateritio (S&A), the color whitish, now and then a little bit yellowish or nearly greenish - except at the margin of the pileus, at first pale, guttate, then reddish, nearly brick-red.

Caralluma lateritia; Orbeopsis lateritia; Taraxacum lateritium; Epidendrum lateritium; Acroceras lateriticum; Brachiaria lateritica.
