A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
lamellatus,-a,-um (adj.A): arranged in lamellae or thin layers or plates; in nearly thin plates; (in fungi) “1. having gills, 2. made up of thin plates” (Ainsworth & Bisby); cf. tabulatus,-a,-um (adj.A), “(obsol.) consisting of layer upon layer” (Lindley); see stacked;

- (Liverwort) JUNGERMANNIA LAMELLATA lobis ovatis conduplicatis dorso lamellatis, lamellis spinosodentatis apice inciso-pinnatis, pinnis denticulatis (Hooker), with lobes ovate, conduplicate, lamellate on the back with lamellae spinose-dentate, at the apex incided-pinnate, with the pinnae denticulate.

- Stigma 2-lamellatum (Swartz), the stigma 2-lamellate.

- Stigma, indivisum; aliud bifidum, bilamellatum (Swartz), the stigma undivided, a different one bifid, bilamellate.

- stigma dilatato-5-gonum, vertice 2-lamellatum (B&H), the stigma dilated, 5-sided, at the summit 2-lamellate.

- stylus lobis in lamellas stigmatosas integras v. rarius 2-fidas expansis (B&H), the style with lobes expanded into entire, stigmatose lamellae or more rarely 2-fid.



Lapillulus,-i (s.m.II), abl. sg. lapillulo: a very little or tiny stone.
