A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

induvialis,-e (adj.B), induviatus,-a,-um (adj.A): clothed with withered parts (remnants), as a stem with persistent dead leaves; cf. marcescens, remanens; cf. reliquus,-a,-um (adj.A), remaining, that is left behind, that remains;

- capsula calyce et corolla persistentibus induviata obverse turbinata (DeCandolle), capsule induviate [i.e. covered with both the persistent calyx and corolla], obversely turbinate [i.e. obturbinate].

[induviatus,-a,-um (adj.A): “When a leaf separates from the stem or branch, it either does so by decaying upon it, when it is said to be non-articulated; or by an articulation, in which case it is articulated. The remains of a non-articulated leaf, as they decay upon the stem, or branch, are sometimes called reliquiae or induviae, and the stem or branch is said to be induviate” (Bentley); cf. cicatrix,-icis (s.f.III).

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
