A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

Importance: momentum,-i (s.n.II), abl.sg. momento, “circumstance, influence, weight, importance;” gravitas,-atis (s.f.III), abl. sg. gravitate, “weight, heaviness; importance, seriousness, gravity;” pondus,-eris (s.n.III), q.v., abl. sg. pondere, “weight, consequence, importance, consideration;”

- notae haud sunt magni momenti, the characters are not of great importance (Stearn).

- pro descriptione non momentum est, for a description, it is of little importance.

- character levioris momenti in genere ubi stamina saepissime petalis anisomera et numero subincerta sunt (B&H), a charater of little weight in a genus where the stamens very often are asymmetric to the petals and rather uncertain as to the number.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
