A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
homogeneous, all of the same kind; uniform in structure, of a similar kind or nature, comparable, equivalent; consistent, compatible; of uniform structure or composition throughout; of a single type (from WIII): homogeneus,-a,-um (adj.A); opp. heterogeneus, of different kinds.

- corporibus laevibus homogeneis, with the bodies smooth, homogeneous.

- endospermio homogeneo, with homogeneous endosperm.

- costa strato stereidarum unico complanato praedita, interne leniter distincta, interdum paene homogenea, costa with a single flattened stereid band, internally weakly differentiated, sometimes almost homogeneous.

- Embryo semini conformis, extus laevis v. in longitudinem tenuiter lineatus, ante maturitatem in generibus normalibus specie homogeneus et siccitate interdum farinosus (B&H), the embryo the same shape as the seed, externally smooth or thinly lined in length, prior to maturity in normal genera consistent to species.

- Embryo semini v. nucleo conformis, specie homogeneus (B&H), the embryo of the same shape as the seed or kernel, homogeneous to species [consistent to species].

- embryo specie homogeneus (B&H), the embryo comparable to species.

- nucleus [nutlet] homogeneus, dense carnosus, albus, oleosus, e granulis arcte connatis (B&H), the nucleus homogeneous [i.e. uniform in structure], densely fleshy, white, oily, closely grown together from granules.

- embryone cylindraceo obtuso homogeneo, germinatione in cornu elongato, plumula basin versus cornu tarde evoluta (B&H), with the embryo cylindraceous, obtuse, homogeneous, upon germination elongate into a spur, the plumule toward the base slowly developed into a spur.

- [algae] Sporae inter filamenta fructifera per totam frondem sparsae, sessiles singulae, perisporio hyalino cinctae, granulosa materia homogenea et indivisa constantes (Agardh), the spores scattered among the fruit-bearing filaments throughout the entire frond, sessile, single, surrounded by the hyaline perisporium, composed of a homogeneous granulose material and undivided.

NOTE: sometimes homogenous is a synonym: homogenus,-a,-um (adj.A).
