A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

Gibbosity, “a swelling of moderate extent and asymmetrical character, at or near the base of an organ” (Fernald 1950); = gibber, q.v. (Lindley): gibbositas,-atis (s.f.III), abl. sg. gibbositate;

- Pileus ad spithamam fere intcrdum dilalatus, robustus , durus , item item nodis saepe et gibbositalibus variis obsitus (S&A), pileus dilated sometimes almost into a span [i.e. 7 inches], robust, hard, [item] at the nodes often beset with knots and various swellings.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
