- sepala concava, 2-seriata, 2 exteriora subvalvata, antico majoro galeato (B&H), sepals concave, in two series, the two external ones partially valvate, with the larger antical one galeate.

- sepalum posticum galeatum (B&H), [Aconitum] the sepal postically galeate.

- sepala 5, posticum maximum galeatum, lateralia anticis latiora (B&H), sepals 5, the postical one the largest, galeate, the lateral sepals wider than the antical ones.

- torus stipitiformis, basi tubo elongato apice denticulato v. appendice galeata instructus(B&H), the torus shaped like a stalk, provided at the base with an elongate tube, at the apex denticulate or with a galeate appendage.

- sepala majuscula, 2-seriata, imbricata v. 2 exteriora valvata, antico вaeре majore-galeato (B&H), the sepals somewhat large, in 2 series, imbricate or the outer 2 valvate, with the antical one often larger-galeate [i.e. vaulted].

- petala 3 v. 5; exteriora 2, (lateralia) libera v. cum inferiore concavo v. galeato (B&H), the petals 3 or five; the outer 2 (lateral ones) free or with the lower concave or galeate.

NOTE: mitrate, in older texts often refers to a galeate condition:

Mitrophora,-ae (s.f.I), the generic name perhaps derives from the ‘upper limb galeate:’ “Perigynanda propria, 2-plex. Exterior, brevis, 2-sepala, incurva. Interior, 1 -sépala, ringentiformis, staminifera : limbo superiore galeato, inferiore 3-fido. Stamina 2 parietibus perigynandae innata (Necker), Characteristic perigynanda [i.e. involucre] 2-fold. The outer short, with 2 sepals, incurved. The inner 1-sepaled, ringentiform, stamen bearing: with the upper limb galeate, the lower 3-fid. Stamens 2, borne on the walls of the perigynandra.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
