A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Fish: piscis,-is (s.m.III), abl. sing. pisce; nom.& acc. pl. pisces, gen. pl. piscium; [see shellfish?]

- aspectu sceleti piscis, with the appearance of the skeleton of a fish.

- odor piscium, the odor of fishes.

NOTE: as an i-stem noun the genitive plural is piscium.

Pisciculus,-i (s.m.II), q.v., abl. sg. pisciculo: a little fish.

Piscidia piscipula, the Florida fishpoison tree, Jamaican dogwood or Fishfuddle; the epithet is said to mean ‘little fish.’

piscosus,-a,-um (adj.A): teeming with fish.

pisculentus (piscolentus),-a,-um (adj.A), piscosus,-a,-um (adj.A), teeming with fish; made of fish, fishy.

Fish sauce:

Garum,-i (s.n.II), q.v., abl. sg. garo: “a highly esteemed fish sauce, prepared originally from the ‘garos’ but later chiefly from the ‘scomber’ or mackerel” (Glare). Hallec,-ecis (s.n.II), abl. sg. hallece; (h)al(l)ec,-ecis (s.n.III); hallex,-ecis (s.f.III): “fish-sauce, apparently the sediment of ‘garum’” (Glare).

Hallec,-ecis (s.n.II), abl. sg. hallece; (h)al(l)ec,-ecis (s.n.III); hallex,-ecis (s.f.III): “fish-sauce, apparently the sediment of ‘garum’” (Glare).

hallecinus,-a,-um (adj.A): of or resembling hallec, like a ‘fish-sauce;’

- [Agaricus cucumis; fungus] odor praesertim in fungo putrescente gravis, halecinus (S&A), the odor especially in the putrescent fungus rank, like a fish-sauce.

fish, of or pertaining to: piscarius,-a,-um (adj.A), q.v.,

- aspectu sceleti piscarii, with the appearance of a fish skeleton.
fish, poisonous to, fish-killing: piscidicus,-a,-um (adj.A): poisonous or offensive to fish; piscidius,-a,-um (adj.A): fish-killing.
fish, pertaining to: piscarius,-a,-um (adj.A);

- aspectu sceleti piscarii, with the appearance of a fish skeleton.
fish, pertaining to: piscarius,-a,-um (adj.A);

- aspectu sceleti piscarii, with the appearance of a fish skeleton.
