fimbri-: in L. comp.: [in fungi] “edged; delicately toothed; fringed” (Ainsworth & Bisby);

- fimbricalyx, with fimbriate calyx; fimbrifolius, with fimbriate leaf; fimbriligulatus, with fringed ligules; fimbrinervius, with fringed nerve or nerves; fimbrinodus, with fringed nodes; fimbrisepalus, with fringed sepals; fimbrisetus, with fringed bristles, fringed with bristles.

- fimbriatifolius, with fimbriate leaves.

- fimbristyloides, resembling the genus Fimbristylis: Tricostularia fimbristyloides.

Fimbristylis Vahl. [ > L. fimbria, a fringe, and stylus, style, "the latter being fringed with hairs in the genuine species" (Fernald 1950).
