A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Fascia,-ae (s.f.I): bandage, band, girdle; a cross-band, as of color; the fascia (Diatoms);

- frustula oblonga vel rectangularia in fascias conjuncta mox soluta et per isthmum angulis concatenata, frustules oblong or rectangular in bands joined together soon free and linked through an isthmus by the angles (Stearn).

- parte centrali fascia crassa indurata ornata, partibus squamae ad fasciam parallelis pallidobrunellis, with the central part decorated with a thick indurate band, with the parts of the scale parallel to the band pale tan.

- endocarpio soluto intus fasciis 3 - 6 verticalibus ramosis anastomosantibus costato(B&H), with the endocarp free anastomosing inside with 3-6 vertical branched bands, costate.

- bracteis subulatis duplo flore longioribus, alis corollae aequalibus (albis cum fascia media viridi.) (DeCandolle), with the bracts subulate two times longer than the flower, with the wings equal to the corolla (white with the middle band green).
