Eremita,-ae (s.m.II): a hermit (Stelten); see hermit.

NOTE: the gender is masculine.

- Insula Eremitae ad Cap. Horn Americae antarcticae: J. Hooker. (C. Muell.), the island of Eremita [i.e. Hermit Island] at Cape Horn of Antarctic America.

NOTE: Hermit Island in the Antarctic; “Hermit Island is an island nearly 2 kilometres (1 nmi) long, lying 3 kilometres (1.5 nmi) southeast of Bonaparte Point, off the southwest coast of Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago” (Wikipedia April 2019).

NOTE: Hermit Islands :” a group of 17 islands within the Western Islands of the Bismarck Archipelago, Papua New Guinea” (Wikipedia April 2019).

Eremus,-i (s.m.II), abl.sg. eremo: an hermitage.

NOTE: the following epithets are nouns in apposition:

(birds) Nesocichla eremita, Tristan Thrush; Thalassarche eremita Chatham Albatross.

Nephasoma eremita

Protichnites eremita (ichnospecies)
