A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
endopleural, endopleuric, pertaining to the endopleura, q.v.: endopleuricus,-a,-um (adj.A). - embryo parvus v. longiusculus, radicula intra basin albuminis duplicatura endopleuri [sic] vaginata (B&H), embryo small or rather longer, with the radicle inside the base of the albumin sheathed by the doubling of the endopleua.

- semina loculis solitaria, ovoidea, testa crassa carnosa, tegmine tenui endopleurae adhaerente, albumine corneo rimoso (B&H); seeds with locules solitary, ovoid, with the testa thick, fleshy, with the integument thin, adherent to the endopleura.

- semina erecta, saepe exsculpta; testa ossea; endopleura interdum rugosa; albumen cartilagineum, nunc ruminatum. (B&H), seeds erect, often pitted; the testa boney; the endopleura sometimes rugose; the albumen cartilagineous, sometimes ruminate [chewed].

- semina adscendentia, compressa, testa membranacea, endopleura carnosa (B&H), seeds ascebing, compressed, the testa membranaceous, the endopleura fleshy.

- embryo viridis, incurvus, exalbuminosus, endopleura tenui inclusus (B&H), embryo green, incurved, without endosperm, enclosed with a thin endopleura.

- Semina péndula v. axi horizontaliter affixa, angulata, compressa, testa crustácea v. ossea, hilo magno, endopleura membranacea, albumine carnoso (B&H), seeds pendulous or horizontally fixed to the axis, angled, compressed, with the testa crustaceous or boney, with the hilum large, with the endopleura membranaceous, with the albumin fleshy.

- testa membranacea, endopleura (albuminis strato) tenui dura. (B&H), texta membranaceous, with the endopleura (with the layer of albumen) thin, hard.
