A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
echinulatus,-a,-um (adj.A): with very small prickles, echinulate;

- siliqua parva, oligosperma, valvis tumidis membranaceis laxe reticulatis enerviis, septo saepissime evanido, replo tenuissimo; seminibus 1-seriatis granulatis v. echinulatis (B&H),silique small, few-seeded, with the valves tumid, membranaceous, loosely reticulate, nervless, most often with a quickly disappearing septum.

- semina perplurima, conferta, parva, 2-seriata, late oblonga, obtusa, testa echinulata (B&H), seeds very many, packed, small, in 2 rows, broadly oblong, obtuse, with the seed-coat with very small prickles.

- semina in loculis 2 - 3, glanduloso-tuberculata v. echinulata (B&H), seeds 2-3 in the locules, glandulose-tuberculate or echinulate.

- carpella matura ab axi secedentia, apice rotundata v. truncata, dorso nuda, 1-3-aristata v. 1-3-rostrata, nunc coriacea extus mucilaginosa, nunc coriacea laevia reticulata v. echinulata nec glochidiata (B&H), mature carpels separating from the axis, at the apex rounded or truncate, on the back naked, 1-3-awned or 1-3-beaked, sometimes externally leathery, mucilaginous, sometimes leathery smooth, reticulate or ecinulate, not glochidiate [i.e. pubescent with barbed bristles].

- carpella matura ab axi secedentia, nunc coriacea extus mucilaginosa, nunc coriacea laevia reticulata v. echinulata nec glochidiata (B&H), mature carpels separating from the axis sometimes externally leathery, mucilaginous, sometimes leathery smooth, reticulate or ecinulate, not glochidiate [i.e. pubescent with barbed bristles].

NOTE: granulatus,-a,-um (adj.A) is a lesser form of echinulatus,-a,-um (adj.A).
