A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
diverse (adv.): in different directions, differently, diversely, variously; cf. varie (adv.);

- petala a sepalis diverse colorata at non longiora (B&H), petals differently colored from the sepals and not longer.

- species 2, inter se evidenter valde affines, etsi diverse descriptas, altera Peruviana, altera Paraensis, utraquo adhuc accuratius investiganda (B&H), species 2, evidently strongly related to each other, even if differently described, the one Peruvian, the other Para [a state in northern Brazil], each still more accurately to be investigated.

- calyx 5-sepalus aut sepalis diverse connatis 2-3-partitus (DeCandolle), calyx with 5 sepals, with the sepals variously connate, 2-3-parted.
