A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
destillans,-antis (part.B): dripping, trickling down, distilling; in chemistry, distilling [> L. destillo,-avi,-atum 1. to drip or trickle down, to distil];

- lentum destillans ab inguine virus, a sticky discharge (slimy liquid) dripping from the groin.

- de capite in nares humor destillans, a moisture dripping into the nostrils from the head [from a head-cold].

- aquae de nubibus destillantes, water dripping down from the clouds.

- tempora nardo destillantia, the temples (of the head) dripping with oil-of-nard.

- [term] Resina est liquor pinguis & oleaginosus ex arbore seu sponte seu ea vulnerata destillans, quae in aqua non dissolvitur sed in oleo duntaxat, &c flammam facile concipit (Ray), resin is a fatty and oleaginous liquid substance distilling (i.e. dripping] from a tree either spontaneously or when it is wounded, which does not dissolve in water but only in oleo, and easily produces a flame.
