A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
coryleus,-a,-um (adj.A): of the hazel- or corylus-tree; cf. colurnus,-a,-um (adj.A) ‘made of the hazel-tree;’

- rarius in foliis coryleis, rostris paullo longioribus apice tantillum incrassatis, demum inclinatis (S&A), more rarely on Corylus leaves, with the beak somewhat longer, at the apex a bit thickened.

- [Sphaeria; fungi] in ligno coryleo duro sicco (S&A), on hazel wood, dry, hard.

- occupat haec ramos non tantum coryleos, sed et salignos varios hinc inde. (S&A), this dwells here and there on not only hazel branches but also various willow branches.

- [fungi] Sphaeria fimbriata var. corylea; Sclerotium erysiphe var. coryleum

- prima vice in trunco vetusto alneo — secunda in coryleo (S&A), in the first place on an old Alnus trunk – in the second on a hazel [trunk].

- ad ramos mortuos coryleos (S&A), on the dead hazel branches.

- [fungi] epixyla nascitur in ramis coryleis, populneis, alneis etc. (S&A), epixylous, it arises on the branches of Corylus, Populus, Alnus, etc.
