conferruminatus,-a,-um (part.A): fused together, fused, joined together; “glued together” (Lindley); “adherent by adjacent faces, as the cotyledons of Horse Chestnut” [Hippocastanum] (Jackson) [> L. conferrumino (-ferumino), -avi,-atum 1. to cement or solder together]; cf. joined; see fused;

- embryo cotyledonibus conferruminatis, embryo with cotyledons fused together.

- semen pendulum, mox germinans, cotyledonibus conferruminatis (B&H), seed pendulous, soon germinating, with the cotyledons fused.

- embryo curvatus inversus, cotyledonibus carnosis crassissimis gibbis conferruminatis per germinationem intra spermodermim [sic] hypogaeis (DeCandolle), embryo crooked, inverted, fleshy, very thick, swollen, joined together, throughout germination developing underground within the spermoderm.

- [Anonaceae] pétala basi connata in Hexalobo; interiora desunt in speciebus paucis Anonae et Unonae; omnia cum sepalis in calyptram indivisam conferruminata in Eupomatia (B&H), the petals connate at the base in Hexalobus, the inner [petals] absent in a few species of Anona and Unona; all of them with sepals fused together into an undivided calyptra [i.e. hood] in Eupomatia.

- EUPOMIATIA. Sépala et pétala conferruminata, calyptratim decidua (B&H), the sepals and petals fused together, deciduous in the manner of a hood [i.e. a calyptea].

- [Eupomatia] sepala et pétala in massam conicam calyptratim a pedunculi apice (seu tubo perianthii) turbinato deciduam conferruminata (B&H), the sepals and petals calyptrately [i.e. like a cap] fused together into a conic mass, deciduous from the turbinate apex of the peduncle (or from the tube of the perianth).

- sepala et petala conferruminata, calyptratim decidua (B&H), sepals and petals fused together, deciduous in the manner of a calyptra [or cap].

- filamenta saepe crassa v. brevia, libera v. varie connata, nunc in massam carnosam conferruminata v. in phalanges tot quot petala et iis oppositas connata (B&H), the filaments often thick or short, free or variously fused, sometimes fused together into a fleshy mass or connate into phalanges as many as the petals and opposite these.

(moss) Grimmia conferruminata Wallr. “caulibus erectis simplicibus polyphyllis densissime congestis veluti in massam conformem conferruminatis, foliis e basi vaginante” (C. Muell.), with the stems erect, simple [i.e. unbranched] polyphyllous [i.e. with many leaves] very densely congested, fused together as into a close-fitting [i.e. with leaves all alike] mass, with the leaves from a sheathing base.
