A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Candy, sweets: dulcia,-orum (pl.n.II), sweet cakes, honey-cakes, sugar-cakes; dulciola,-ae (s.f.I), ‘little sugar cakes;’ tragemata,-atis (s.n.III), abl. sg. tragemate: fruits, etc. eaten as an after-course, dessert, sweetmeats, confectionery (Lewis & Short); tragematia,-orum (n.pl.II) ‘sweetmeats, confectionary;’ see honey, sugar.

of candy: dulciarius,-a,-um (adj.A), “of confections, making sweetmeats.’

Candy- or sweetmeat-maker: dulciarius,-i (s.m.II), abl. sg. dulciario, “a confectioner, pastry-cook.”

Candy-holder: vascula (n.pl.II) dulciaria (adj.A), a container to hold sweets or confections, such as a cookie jar.
candy-like, resembling sugar, sugary: saccharinus,-a,-um (adj.A);

- sapor saccharinus, abl.sg. sapore saccharino, taste sugary, candy-like.
candy-like, candied: saccharatus,-a,-um (adj.A), ‘sugary, sugared, looking as if sprinkled with sugar, appearing frosted; candy-like;’ sucrosus,-a,-um (adj.A: sparkling, shining, sugary, as with crystalline sugar; see frosted, sparkling.
