calyptratus,-a,-um (adj.A): calyptrate, forming or bearing a calyptra or cap-like covering, as by the fusion or close proximity of members, such as sepals, bracts, valves, leaves; (in fungi) “bearing a cap or lid” (S&D);

- [Calandrinia spergularina] valvis corolla emarcescente calyptratis cohaerentibus submembraneis (F. Mueller), with the corolla withering, with valves calyptrate [i.e. forming a cap], pressed together, somewhat membranous.

Calandrinia calyptrata; Didymodon calyptratus (a moss) named for the “calyptra linearis thecam duplo supcrans torta” (C. Mueller) the calyptra linear, two times over-topping the theca, twisted; Grimmia calyptrata,(a moss), named for its calyptra: “calyptra majuscula thecam totam maturam obtegente (C. Mueller), with the calyptra somewhat large, covering over the whole mature theca; Sida calyptrata
