A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
bulbifer,-fera,-ferum (adj.A), bulbiger,-gera,-gerum (adj.A): bulbiferous, bearing bulbs; “bulb-bearing, as when bulbils are amongst the florets of an inflorescence, or axils of the leaves” (Jackson); “often used of plants with flowers replaced by bulbils” (Stearn 1996).

- [Aconitum, var. bulbiferum] foliis longe petiolatis bulbos subrotundos axillis gerentibus (DeCandolle), with the leaves long petiolate bearing nearly round bulbs in the axils.

- foliis superioribus nunquam indivisis ex axillis non bulbiferis (DeCandolle), with the upper leaves never undivided, not bearing bulbs from the axils.

- [Stellaria bulbosa] radice filiformi repente bulbifera (DeCandolle), with the root thread-like, creeping, bearing bulbs.

Pohlia bulbifera, 'The specific epithet refers to the production of tuberous brood bodies, or bulbils' (C&A 1981); Dentaria bulbifera.

Agaricus bulbigerus; Lilium bulbiferum.
