A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Bud-like: becoming bud-like, approaching a bud in appearance, gemmascent: gemmascens,-entis (part.B); gemmiformis,-e (adj.B), gemmaceus,-a,-um (adj.A);

- [moss] flores mascull gemmascentia in longitudincm totius caulis positi (C. Mueller), the male flowers bud-like, arranged along the length of the whole stem.

- [moss] perichaetia in longitudine caulis numerosa distincte lateralia et pro plantae speciosae altitudine brevissima triquetra bulboso-gemmascentia (C.Mueller), the perichaetia on the length of the stem numerous, definitely lateral and for a splendid plant, very short in height, three-angled, bulbous-bud-like.

 

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
