A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
attached: affixus,-a,-um (part.A), q.v., with dat. or with ad and acc. or in and abl. to indicate place of attachment, per and acc. to indicate means by which attached (Stearn, 1983); connexus,-a,-um (part.A + ablative of means): connected, united, attached, fastened or tied together; see connected, fixed; see adnate, joined, united; fixus,-a,-um (adj.A), fastened, attached; opp. distinctus,-a,-um (part.A), ‘separated;’ opp. liber,-era,-erum (adj.A), ‘free, not attached to other organs;’

- propagulis in apice fixis, with propagula attached at the apex.

- antheridia lateri vel apici oogonii affixum, antheridia affixed to the side or apex of the oogonium [use of dative].

- antheridia ad laterem vel apicem oogonii affixum, antheridia attached to the side or the apex of the oogonium.

- antheridia in latere vel apice oogonii affixa, antheridia attached on the side or apex of the oogonium.

- lamellis affixis percongestis, with lamellae attached, very crowded.

- quum e capsula disiungens ut pote membranam remanens e strato interno cellulorum compositam ad dentes peristomii affixam, when disuniting from the capsule, remaining as a membrane composed of the inner layer of cells attached to the teeth of the peristome.

- zygosporae in termino lato ad productionem zygosporophori longam collariformem affixae, zygospores attached at the wide end to a long, collariform extension of the zygosporophore.

- productum, tubo interno perigynandae interioris affixum, foliolis 5 serratis constat (Necker), the spur attached to the internal tube of the interior perigynanda consising of 5 serrate leaflets [Robertia].

- placentae dissepimento spurio saepius connexae (B&H), the placentae more often connected by a false dissepiment.

- epicarpio cum endocarpio fibris tantum connexo (B&H), with the epicarp with the endocarp only by fibers connected.
