A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
atlanticus,-a,-um (adj.A), atlantiacus,-a,-um (adj.A): atlanteus,-a,-um (adj.A): pertaining to the Atlantic Ocean; “of the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, or, alternatively, from the Atlas Mountains in North Africa (Stearn 1996); “of or pertaining to Mount Atlas, as a designation for west Africa, Libyan” (Lewis & Short); Mare Atlanticum, the Atlantic Ocean; Oceanus Atlanteus, the Atlantic Ocean;

- Alyssum Atlanticum, in Cretae rupibus, et in Atlantis cacumine (DeCandolle), Alyssum Atlanticum, on the rocks of Crete, and on the summit of Mount Atlas [i.e. the peaks of the Atlas Mountains].

Flora atlantica: sive historia plantarum quae in Atlante, agro tunetano et algeriensi crescunt /auctore Renato Desfontaines; flora of the Atlas Mountains: or a systematic account of the plants which grow in the Atlas Mountains, in the region of Tunesia and Algeria/ by the author Réné Desfontaines.

Atlantic forest (eastern Brazil): sylva atlantica (adj.A);

- perdistincta a speciebus Ixorae sylvae atlanticae atque regionis montano-campestris brasiliensis corolla longa; similis speciei amazonicae Ixorae graciliflorae, very distinct from species of Ixora of the atlantic forest, and also of mountain-grassland region of Brasil by the long corolla; similar to the Amazonian species Ixora graciliflora.

Faramea atlantica J. G. Jardim & Zappi, "The species epithet refers to the singular biome Atlantic forest from eastern Brazil."
