argutus,-a,-um (part.A): comp. argutior,-ius (adj.B), superl. argutissimus,-a,-um (adj.A): sharp, sharp-toothed [> L. arguo,-ui,-utum to make clear, to prove; to accuse; argutus,-a,-um (part.A), (to the sight) bright, glancing, lively; to the hearing) clear, penetrating, piercing, sharp; (to the smell) sharp, pungent]; see ‘sharp;’

- argutidens,-entis (adj.B), with sharp teeth; argutifrons, with a sharp leaf or frond; argutisquamus, with sharp scales.

- dentibus inaequalibus argutis basi non confluentibus (Mueller), with the teeth unequal, sharp, at the base not confluent.

- carinis argutis, with the keels sharp.

- dentibus paucis, argutis, with the teeth few, sharp.
