A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Antheridiophorum,-i (s.n.II), abl. sg. antheridiophoro, nom. & acc. pl. antheridiophora: antheridiophore, “specialized antheridium-bearing branch; e.g. Marchantia; the male gametangiophore” (Magill 1990); see gametangiophorum,-i (s.n.II); cf. archegoniophorum,-i (s.n.II).

Androphorum,-i (s.n.II), q.v., in mycology, “a branch forming antheridia, as in Pyronema” (Ainsworth & Bisby).

Gametangiophorum,-i, abl. sg. gametangiophoro, nom. & acc. pl. gametangiophora: “a specialized gametangia-bearing branch, producing either archegonia (archegoniophore) or antheridia (antheridiophore)” (Magill 1990); see gametophore, sporophore; see archegoniophorum,-i (s.n.II).

NOTE: special antheridia-bearing branches of Sphagnum: amentula,-ae (s.f.I, diminutive of amentum).
