Anterides (nom. & acc, pl.), gen.pl. anteridum (pl. f.III), dat. & abl. pl. anteridibus: 'in architecture, counter-props set against a wall to support it, a buttress,' buttresses, as in the genus Eschweilera (Lecythidaceae) or the broadened basal portion of a tree trunk or a thickened vertical part of it which supports the tree; cf. geniradicatus,-a,-um (part.A): knee-rooted, in wetland trees, with knees or knee-roots; see buttress, buttress root;

- anterides gralliformes, stilt buttresses.

- a speciebus aliis Eschweilerae in America Centrali anteridibus complanatis valde evolutis differt, from the other species of Eschweilera in Central America it differs by the flattened buttresses strongly developed.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
