A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
annually, every year, yearly: quotannis (adv.), q.v.;

- rhizomate quotannis tuber novum integrum v. palmato-2-3-fidum formante, with the rhizome annually forming a new tuber, entire or palmately 2-3-divided.

- herbae terrestres, rhizomate saepius brevi, fibras fasciculatas emittente, quarum una quotannis in tuber indivisum v. lobatum incrassatur, e quo planta nova evolvitur, tubere annotino demum deliquescente; rarius fibras e rhizomate perenni plures crassocarnosae; terrestrial herbs, with a rhizome more often short, putting forth fasciculate fibers, one of which annually is thickened into an undivided or lobate tuber, from which a new plant is developed, with the tuber of the previous year finally deliquescing; more rarely many thick-fleshy fibers from a perennial rhizome.

- Platanaceae: Arbores cortice saepius in squamas latas quotannis deciduo (B&H), trees with the bark deciduous very often every year into broad scales.
