anguineus,-a,-um (adj.A), anguinus,-a,-um (adj.A): pertaining to a snake, snaky, q.v.; anguineus,-a,-um (adj.A), signifying a snake (Paxton); syn. serpentinus,-a,-um (adj.A), q.v.

[Cucurbitaceae] Trichosanthes anguina, Serpent or Snake-Gourd; also T. colubrina Bailey; Involucraria anguina.

Anguina,-ae (s.f.I): “a genus of plant-parasitic phasmid nematodes (family Tylenchidae) ... typically forming galls on leaves, stems or roots” (WIII).

[Fabaceae] Anguina anguina;

Cucumis anguineus (Paxton); also Cucumis anguinus (IPNI)

NOTE: not to be confused with sanguineus,-a,-um (adj.A), q.v., blood-red; resembling or pertaining to blood.
