adhuc (adv.), ad huc (adv.): (of place) to this place, hitherto, this or thus far, to the point of, “designating the limit, inclusive of the whole space traversed: hence often joined with usque” [= usque adhuc] (Lewis & Short); (of time) up until now, up to now, hitherto, until now; as yet, still; just now, now for the first time; besides, furthermore;

- adhuc non; neque adhuc: not as yet, not to this time; nihil adhuc: nothing as yet, not at all as yet; numquam adhuc, never as yet, never yet.

- cum adhuc: “to denote that a thing has only reached a certain point: now first, just now; cum adhuc, now for the first time.

- radícula macropoda in Rhizophoreis verticem pericarpii perforans, limum petens et in eo germinans dum adhuc fructus arbori adhaeret (B&H); radicle macropodous in the Rhizophoreae, perforating the apex of the pericarpium, seeking mud and germinating in it, until to the point where the fruit adheres to a tree.

- (algae) fila fasciculata, ex uno puncto 5, 4 vel adhuc plura radiantia, maxime rigida & fragilia (Agardh), the threads fasciculate, 5, 4 or more besides radiating from one point, most rigid and fragile.

- alliorum adhuc cognitorum monographia, of the alliums up to the present [i.e. hitherto, thus far, up until now] known, a monograph.

- species 2, originis adhuc incertae, verisimiliter e montibus Asiae mediae, species 2, as yet of uncertain origin, probably from the mountains of mid-Asia.

- peristomium adhuc haud visum, peristome as yet not seen.

- in capsulis adhuc vivis vel languidis Bryi argentei, on the capsules still living or withered of Bryum argenteum.

- flores tamen masculi adhuc ignoti, however the male flowers as yet unknown.

- spermogoniis et aeciis adhuc ignota, with spermogonia and aecia as to now unknown.

- species 2, inter se evidenter valde affines, etsi diverse descriptas, altera Peruviana, altera Paraensis, utraquo adhuc accuratius investiganda (B&H), species 2, evidently strongly related to each other, even if differently described, the one Peruvian, the other Para [a state in northern Brazil], each still more accurately to be investigated.

- nullae adhuc detectae in Africa et perpaucae in Australia et Nova-Zelandia (B&H), none as yet [i.e. hitherto] detected in Africa and very few in Australia and New Zealand.

- specimina non vidimus et stirps imperfecte descripta adhuc dubia remanet (B&H), we have not seen specimens and the plant, imperfectly described, as yet remains doubtful.

- solum Algeriense minus arenosum, si regionem deserto conterminam excipias, longe adhuc fertilius (Desf.), the Algerian soil being less sandy, if you were to except [i.e. take exception to] the region bordering upon the desert, being far more fertile besides.
