achlamydeous, (of the flower) “having no floral envelopes whatever” (Lindley); naked, lacking a perianth; without calyx or corolla (Fernald 1950): achlamydeus,-a,-um (adj.A);

- ab illo recedens floribus omnibus achlamydeis (nec saltem unius sexus calyculatis) ebracteolatis (sive epaleatis) masculis monostemoneis (F. Mueller), departing from that by all the flowers achlamydeous [i.e. lacking a perianth] (not calyculate at least of one of the sexes), lacking bracteoles (or paleas), with the male [flowers] monostemoneous.
