- (moss) Drepanophyllum,-i (s.n.II), Nomen graecae compositionis a verbis drepanE, ‘falx’ et phyllon (ob folia falciformia) deductum.(C. Muell.), the name compounded of a Greek compound from the words drepanE, ‘falx = sickle’ and phyllon (due to the falciform [i.e. sickle-shaped leaves].

- nomina generica plurima in herbariis v. catalogis proposita sed adhuc verbis non definita, nec ab auctoribus recepta (B&H), very many generic names proposed in herbaria or catalogues [i.e.lists or inventories] but hitherto not delimited in words [i.e. in print], nor accepted by authors.

- (moss) [Eustichia] nomen e verbis graecis eu- et stichos, ob folia disticha deductum (Mueller), the name rerived from the Greek words ‘eu-‘ and ‘stichos’ because of the distichous [i.e. two-ranked] leaves [derived from Phylloaonium Eustichia].
